Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. is the musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable new friends like optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.

Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo JR. will help us bring a vibrant underwater world to life on stage this summer!

Rehearsals: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:00-6:00pm until June 26, when rehearsals will start at 3:30pm, with additional rehearsals scheduled every day, 3:00-6:00pm the week of July 9th.

Specifics: The 8-week program cost is $500 which includes your child’s participation, workshop classes, show costuming, script, audio rehearsal tracks, t-shirt and a digital recording of the performance.  Script will be distributed on our first day:  Tuesday, May 30 at 3:30pm.

Auditions: Everyone who registers will be accepted into Finding Nemo Jr. until program registration is full.

Roles are assigned based on auditions which take place in one-half hour increments with four youth each registering for one of the four slots per half hour. This schedule of half hour audition slots runs from 4:00-6:00pm on May 23, 24 and 25. After registering your youth for the program through our link below and paying via PayPal, you will then be directed to our sign-up genius page  to pick your audition slot.

Prospective cast members will sing a cut of a song from the show, be taught a simple dance combination to that song and they will read a scene from the script. Auditions are very flexible based on the comfort level of each auditioner and their level of experience. For example if a cast member does not feel comfortable singing alone, he or she can choose to sing with an other auditioner even if that person has already auditioned or wants to audition alone. The goal of the process is to gauge what each cast member’s confidence level and ability is with the material. Everyone will have multiple opportunities to try things, so we see each cast member at their best with as little stress or nervousness as possible.
